Progress – Soa down!

So, I thought I'd like to see some SWTOR endgame on Imperial side as well, so I applied with my Agent to a small guild that had been making good progress in the Hard Mode operations. Tonight was raid ops night so first we cleared Eternity Vault in HM up to Soa the Infernal One, then went and cleared  the entire Karagga's Palace in HM, and after that returned to give Soa a good spanking – and got a nice first-time kill on the second (or was it third?) try.

SWTOR

I was caught in a Mind Trap when the boss went down so I didn't get the kill for the ops quest. Fail! And the loot was made of fail also, only Bounty Hunter and Inquisitor pieces, and those classes were already geared to the teeth. Better luck next week!

SWTOR
He's kinda big. And dead.

  1. What exactly is a mind trap in swtor? Lotro has introduced the annoying mechanic that deeds don't progress if you're dead when the bos goes down, never mind if you were alive for 99% of the fight!

  2. Mindtrap is a mechanic that's part of the fight. Random player(s) get pulle d into this so called mindtrap and are (as the name states) trapped in the mind of the boss.

Other raid members have to damage and destroy the mind trap to free the player(s) inside

  3. Ouch, that sounds like an annoying feature, Lothi. SWTOR was even worse at start - you couldn't get loot if someone looted (/clicked) the boss when your character was still dead and waiting for a rez. At least they fixed that part, although it took them months to get the loot system to work even remotely well.

Like Rule said, it's a mechanic of the fight - you get teleported into a tiny cell and have to wait there until the rest of the raid frees you.
